Any Mom Will Do

          My Substitute Mom

Hey Kids,

Let’s celebrate our Mothers.

Ha!! Stubb, you were dumped by the road, and who knows what happened to your Mother. You had a rough start! It’s sad but true.

TT, STOP! We have Ida pearl; she’s our SUBSTITUTE MOM. She’s always ready for a cuddle and a kiss.  Ida loves me. I just know it.

When I get one of her cookies. then I feel the LOVE.

Let’s find Ida Pearl and give her a Mother’s Day smooch.

Lucky for us, Ida likes DOG KISSES. Most people rub them off.

We find her in the park on her bench.

“Oh dear TT, Ida Pearl looks sad!”

Look Out! The old gal has been crying! Stubb, try for a treat and run!

I jump up and wiggle close to her. I stretch my lips, puff out air, and out pops my amazing smile. Then I give her a wet smooch on her soft cheek.

“Stubby, I feel better now that you’re here with me. My son was coming today and he called and said maybe next week. I was planning on seeing him.”  Another tear rolls down over her wrinkles and disappears under her chin.

I snuggle closer to Ida. “I love my Stubb. You’re so soft, warm and squeezy.”

TT alert!! I’m WAITING! Where are the treats?

Ida Pearl, opens a small brown bag. “I saved some lunch for you.  I was hoping you’d come.”

The tuna sandwich is yummy.  TT is singing now that I’m nibbling on a crunchy cookie.

Our Ida Pearl is delightful, but her weird house slippers scare me.

Kids, hug your Mom, or hug a substitute Mom. It’s not about the name. It’s about love, help, cuddles, squeezes, snuggles, smiles, pats, and kisses.

Remember God couldn’t be everywhere so he created Mothers.

Cherrio,

Stubb and TT
