TT, my Talking Tummy, is yelling, What about Easter Baskets and Candy? Get moving, Stubb. I’m HUNGRY!!
“TT, calm down! I’m on my way to see Ida Pearl. She always has Easter treats.”
I squish-plop toward the Sunshine Senior Center. We’re almost there when I hear a sniffle from the shrubs nearby. “TT, did you hear that noise? Sounds like crying.”
Who cares!! Keep movin! I’ve got the EASTER HUNGRIES!!
I stop, and TT pinches me. “Ouch! It’s not about YOU! Maybe we can help.”
HELP!! I don’t want to help. I want to EAT!
I ignore TT and peep into the bushes. A small, brown bunny with an Easter basket is softly crying.
The bunny tries to run away, but she flops back down. “I’m Flopsy, and I hurt my leg. I tripped on a rock. I can’t deliver this Easter basket to the kids down the street. I’m in big trouble if I can’t do my job!” One long, brown, fuzzy ear flops over her eye. “Grandfather Rabbit will fire me! No second CHANCES for an Easter Bunny!
“I’m SUPER STUBB! I’ll take your basket to the kids. Flopsy, your Grandfather Rabbit will NEVER know our secret!!”
TT growls, Stubb, grab her basket and RUN. What luck she can’t chase us.
“TT, you’re full of the MEANS! Shame on you!
“Flopsy, I’m glad to help ! Where do I deliver the basket?”
“It’s the green and gray house at the end of the street. I know Carter and Ava are waiting for me.” Flopsy wiggles her small pink nose. “Stubb, meeting you makes this my LUCKY DAY. Help yourself to some of the candies and the Easter cookies.”
I lick Flopsy’s soft ear, and I’m on my way. I squish-plop along while munching on a yummy white cookie with jelly bean frosting and four marshmallow chicks.
TT is singing. I love that dear little Flopsy; she’s such a kind, sweet bunny.
Happy Spring and Happy Easter
